Composers: Yuko Takehara

Breath of Fire II, known as Breath of Fire II: The Fated Child in Japan, is the second game in the popular Breath of Fire series. The game was developed and published by Capcom for the SNES console and later re-released for the Game Boy Advance. Gameplay is very similar to the original and includes features such as a world map, turn based random encounters and the return of Fishing & Hunting minigames. While the story is set 500 years after the events of the original game, the main character is again an orphan boy named Ryu. This time around, his friend Bow is falsely accused of a crime which leads Ryu on a quest to clear his name. The game world is again populated  by various animal clans such as the Shell Clan and the Creeping Clan but the Dragon Clan from the original Breath of Fire is no longer in existence. Breath of Fire 2 received moderate reviews with an average score of 79% as reported by Game Rankings. It was released on December 2, 1994 in Japan and on December 10, 1995 in North America. The European release took place on April 25, 1996. The game was re-released for the GBA in the summer of 2007 in all three regions.
