Dark Cloud 2, Released as 'Dark Chronicle' in Japan, is a console action RPG for the Playstation 2 developed by Level-5. The game is a direct sequel to the original Dark Cloud RPG. Like the original, the theme of time travel plays a large role in the game. The game's two protagonists are Max, who is from the present, and Monica, who is from the future. The game's antagonist is the evil Emperor Griffon who has to be stopped. The game's soundtrack was composed by Tomoshito Nishiura and has some interesting tunes that are well worth listening to. Dark Cloud 2 was released in Japan on November 28, 2002, in North America February 17, 2003 and in Europe on September 10, 2003. The game was very well received, as it earned a score of 87.83% from Gamerankings.
