Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, titled Doragon Kuesuto Fo Michibikareshi Monotachi in Japan and Dragon Warrior IV in North America, is the fourth game in the critically acclaimed and popular 'Dragon Quest' series. This particular installment was developed by Chunsoft. The game was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment Console (Famicom) but was later remade for the Nintendo DS. Dragon Quest IV offers a slightly different story than the previous games, as it tells its tale in five different parts, called chapters. Four of them are from the perspective of the Hero's future companions and the last is from the Hero's perspective. The game's underlying story though is a journey to save the world. The game's protagonist and Hero is an 18 year old, and the most powerful playable character in the game, as he has access to the best skills and spells the game has to offer. The game's main antagonist is the evil Psaro the Manslayer. The game was released in Japan on February 11, 1990 and in North America on October 1992. The DS remake was later released in Japan in late 2007 and in North America in late 2008.
