Lufia & The Fortress of Doom, called Biography Estpolis in Japan, is console RPG for the SNES with an emphasis on puzzle solving. The game's story begins when four of the bravest warriors, Maxim, Selan, Artea and Guy infiltrate a large floating island with a castle on top of it that appeared in the sky one evening. The castle was dubbed by the local populace as the 'Fortress of Doom', as it served as a base of operations for an elite group of omnipotent beings known as Sinistrals, who planned on conquering the world. The actual game begins 18 years after the original 'Fortress of Doom' was destroyed by the four brave hearoes years ago. The player assumes the control of a red haired boy who gets involved in a struggled to save the world again from the a newly emerged Sinistral army. Lufia & The Fortress of Doom was only fairly well received as it earned a 71% on GameRankings. The game was released in Japan on June 25th, 1993 and in North America in December 1993.
