Age of Empires is the first of the award-winning Age of Empires Real Time Strategy games. In game, the player takes control of a civilization of hunter-gatherers and has to help them become an Iron Age civilization while gathering resources and protecting themselves from enemy attacks. Twelve civilizations are available, and players must play through four 'ages' to advance their civilization.
