Secret of Mana Original Soundtrack OST
Platform: Super Nintendo (SNES)
Secret of Mana, called Seiken Densetsu 2 in Japan or 'The Legend of Holy Sword 2', is an action RPG developed and published by Square. It is the first installment of the critically acclaimed 'Mana' games and is the only one released outside of Japan for the SNES. Unlike its competitors that use turn based combat (ie. Final Fantasy), Secret of Mana has an interesting real time battlesĀ similar to the games in the Legend of Zelda series, but with more RPG elements. Another unique aspect of Secret of Mana is that unlike other RPGs of the time, it has both Single Player and multiplayer Cooperative mode. The game's story focuses on the controversial use of a fuel source called 'mana' to fuel a flying warship called the 'Mana Fortress'. The role of the game's protagonist is to use the powerful Mana sword and to destroy the 'Mana Fortress' in order to bring peace to the world. The game was well received as it an 86.50% on game rankings and sold nearly 2 million copies world wide. It was released in Japan on August 6th, 1993, in North America on October 3, 1993 and lastly in Europe on November 24, 1994.
