Spyro the Dragon is the first installment of the Spyro the Dragon franchise on the Playstation. In the game, players take control of the young dragon Spyro as he goes on a quest to stop the evil Gnasty Gnorc from taking over the world. In the process of the game, Spyro must collect the magical Dragon Crystals and rescue his frozen, inanimate friends from a spell cast by Gnasty Gnorc.

The game was released on September 10th, 1998 in the United States, November 15th, 1998 in Europe, and April 1st, 1999 in japan. It recieved a rating of 86% on gamerankings.com
