Tales of Symphonia is a Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) first released for the Nintendo GameCube and later for the PlayStation 2. It launched in Japan on August 29, 2003, in Canada and the United States on July 13, 2004, and in Europe on November 19, 2004. The game follows the tale of Lloyd Irving as he accompanies his childhood friend Colette Brunel who is on a journey to 'regenerate' the world. Lloyd's job along with the other characters that join him is to protect Colette as she tries to heal her world. The game sold 118,000 copies during its first two weeks of sales in the U.S. and went on to sell over 1.2 million copies worldwide. It is also considered one of the highest rated games in the 'Tales' franchise.
