Ys 3 - Wanderers From Ys, called Isu Suri-Wandarazu Furomu Isu in Japan, is an action RPG and the third game in the Ys franchise. It was originally released for the old school NEC PC-8801 system in Japan but later made its way to the NES and SNES where it become popular. Ys 3 is set exactly three years after the events of the first two games, Ys 1 and Ys 2 where Adol Christin and his friend Dogi arrive to a town named Redmont where the local populace is being threatened by men from the neravy Valestine Castle. Being the good guy that he is Adol decides to help out the people in Redmont. Unlike the previous games in the Ys franchise, the gameplay in Ys3 has sidescrolling gameplay rather than a top down camera view. Ys 3 wasn't well received in North America, as the game earned a pretty dismal 58.7% on GameRankings, but that was only based on three game reviews. The game was first released in 1989 and has some memorable tunes in the OST.
