Players take control of the legendary hero as he attempts to make his way through the world, collecting party members and equipment to defeat the monsters t hat run rampant across it. Throughout the game, the story has multiple twists and turns, and the game itself has been released multiple times. It has had a graphical update that put it into the 'next generation' when ported to the Playstation 2. Both the soundtrack and the graphics of the ports have been stellar, and Dragon Quest 5 is arguably one of the best games in the series. It has scored very well, getting scores between 80-90% across multiple video game ranking websites.
