Platforms: Playstation 2 (PS2)
Final Fantasy X-2, called Fainaru Fantaji Ten-Tsu in Japan, is a console RPG developed by Square for the Playstation 2 that is a direct sequel to the enormously popular Final Fantasy X. The game is set after the events of Final Fantays X where the protagonist of the game, Yuna, along with her two friends Rikku and Paine try to resolve numerous political conficts in the world of Spira before they lead to war. Final Fantasy X-2 was the first direct dequel to a previous Final Fantasy game. X-2 sets itself apart from previous Final Fantasy games by having only three playable characters with all of them being female. The game was enormously successful as it sold millions of copies worldwide and was ranked by Famitsu as the 32nd best game of all time. Final Fantasy X-2 was released in Japan on March 13, 2003, in North America on November 18, 2003 and in Europe on February 20th, 2004. The game earned an 86% on GameRankings. The game's soundtrack wasn't too well received as it was the first Final Fantasy game without input from Nobuo Uematsu, who was the composer of all previous Final Fantasy games.
