Final Fantasy IV (Final Fantasy II in North America), called Fainaru Fantaji Fo, is another installment of the critically acclaimed 'Final Fantasy' RPG series. The game is set in a fantasy Earth which is often referred to as the 'Blue Planet'. The game's protagonist is a Dark Knight from the Kingdom of Baron named Cecil. Cecil joins up with his like minded friends to put a stop to the evil Golbez from collecting powerful crystals which would allow him to rule the world. Final Fantasy IV was the first game in the series to use the 'Active Time Battle' system which was later incorporated in six other Final Fantasy titles. Like nearly all other Final Fantasy titles, the game's music score was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. The game was well received and hailed by many as one of the greatest games of all time. It was released in Japan on July 19, 1991 and in North America on November 23, 1991. The game's enormous success led to the development of the game on numerous other platforms including the Playstation, WonderSwan, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. Final Fantasy IV received a score of 89.39% on GameRankings.
