Kingdom Hearts, also called Kingudamu Hatsu in Japan, is an actipn RPG developed and published by Square for the Playstation 2. The game is the first installment of the now popular and critically acclaimed Kingdom Hearts Series. The game was a joint venture between Square and the Walt Disney Company, as the RPG combines characters from both the Final Fantasy universe and the Disney universe. Kingdom Hearts is one of Squares first 'action oriented' RPGs, as the game is incredibly fast paced compared to Square's other titles. The game has an incredibly high production value, as the game has a great deal of voice acting and top notch graphics. The game's protagonist is a 14 year old boy named Sora who is chosen to wield the legendary Keyblade, a sword meant for battling darkness and evil. Kingdom Hearts is regarded as one of the best PS2 RPGs of all time by many critics and it has earned an impressive 87% score from GameRankings. The game was released in Japan on March 28, 2008, North America on September 17, 2002 and in Europe on November 15, 2002.
