Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the sequel to the original Super Mario Galaxy and was released in North America on May 23, 2010. Each level in the game is a galaxy filled with planets. This sequel added updated gravity effects, new power ups, and the ability to ride Yoshi. Galaxy 2 was originally planned to be a minor update, but eventually became a full feature sequel. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was well received and sold over 4 million copies worldwide. Critics gave the game an average rating of 97%, making it one of the best rated video games of all time.
