Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, called Mario & Luigi RPG in Japan, is an RPG for the Game Boy Advance and is the third game in the Mario RPG franchise. Like most Mario titles, Superstar Saga begins in Mushroom Kingdom where Princess Peach gets abducted by Cackletta of Beanbean Kingdom who is also the antagonist of the game. Unlike traditional RPGs, SuperStar Saga places a great deal of emphasis on its battle system and humor rather than a long epic storyline. Like the Paper Mario games, attacks have to be accurately timed in order to deal maximum damage and even completely avoid enemy attacks. Although Superstar Saga begins in Mushroom Kingdom, much of the game's events take place in Beanbean kingdom, a neighboring monarchy. Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga was extremely  well received as it earned an impressive 91% from GameRankings and earned the 37th spot on one of Nintendo Power's top 200 games list. The game was released in North America on November 17th, 2003 and in Japan and Europe on November 21st, 2003.
