Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention is a turn based RPG with a fantasy themed world, and some steampunk elements. First released in 1992 for the Sega Mega Drive, it has been re-released on a variety of portable devices in recent years including the Game Boy Advance, iPhone, and iPad. Shining Force is a tactics RPG where battles take place on gridded maps. Players control multiple units and must assign them different tasks each round. The story in Shining Force takes place in the Kingdom of Guardiana. The main character, Max, is sent on a mission to stop Darksol and his hordes from resurrecting Dark Dragon. Shining Force is the first game in a series of strategy games that are part of the larger Shining series of video games.
