Threads of Fate, also known as Dewprism in Japan, is a console RPG for the Playstation developed and published by Square. The premise of the game is centered around the adventure of two characters, Mint and Rue. The game's twist is that players can choose to play as either of the protagonists by making their choice at the start of the game. Each character has a different storyline and other unique elements, but the two stories are closely related with similar quests and events. Another unique aspect of the game is that it plays more like an adventure game than a traditional Japanese Role Playing game, as the gameplay is a more like Secret of Mana or even The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time rather than a game from the Final Fantasy series. The game received largely positive reviews with a 7.5 / 10 average score and was released around the same time as Chrono Cross and Legend of Manga so the game did get a bit lost in the RPG 'crowd'. Threads of Fate was released in Japan on October 10, 1999 and in North America on July 18, 2000.
