The player takes on the role of Mobius 1, an professional jet fighter pilot serving in the Independent States Allied Forces' (ISAF) air force, fighting against the Eruseans who have taken over almost all of the Usea continent after a horrible event in 1999. A massive asteroid, named Ulysses 1994 XF-04, struck Usea, killing half a million people and making many more homeless. Erusea used this as an opportunity to take the continent after a long awaited military buildup. They achieve military supremacy via the superweapon Stonehenge, a massive battery of railguns that were designed to eliminate asteroids but have been found to be useful against airplanes as well.  This allows Erusea to conquer most of the known world.
