Breath of Fire IV is a console RPG for Sony's Playstation console which was developed and published by Capcom. It is the fourth title in the popular 'Breath of Fire' RPG series. The story revolves around a young man named Ryu who is a member of a lost civilization that can transform into powerful dragons. Ryu must team up with other warriors and stop the immortal emperor from destroying the world. The game has a mix of 2d and 3d graphics and utilizes the standard turn based combat system. The game has generally favorable reviews with an average rating of 82% as reported on Game Rankings. It was released in Japan on April 27, 200 and in North America on November 28. 2000. The European version was released next year on August 3, 2001. The game's popularity lead to the release of a limited PC version that was only available in Japan & Europe.
