Culdcept is a strategy RPG where players take control of a 'cepter', a character that can use magical 'books' full of up to 50 monster cards to battle other cepters. The game is rather intricate, but it tends to 'hold the player's hand' through the many starter missions until they get a grasp of how to play. It was originally on the Sega Saturn, then ported to the Playstation 2, and finally to the Nintendo DS.
