Disgaea: Hour of Darkness Original Soundtrack OST
Platforms: Playstation 2 (PS2)
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, called Makai Senki Disugaia in Japan, is a tactical RPG developed by niche video game maker Nippon Ichi Software for the Playstation 2. Like other 'tactical RPGs', much of the gameplay in Disgaea takes place on a square grid where the player controls the main character and his allies against enemies. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness starts with Laharl, the protagonist and son of King Krichevskoy, rising out of an open coffin in his Room after 2 years of sleep. After learning that his father has died, Laharl swears to succeed his father and claim the throne. Perhaps Disgaea's most interesting feature is the game's incredibly high replay value, as players can start new games while retaining their old levels, items and skills. The game has a level limit of 9999 and multiple endings, which further adds to the game's replay value. The game's enormous success led to the creation of two additional games and multiple remakes. Ontop of that the company behind the game created a Disgaea manga and anime series. The game was released in Japan on January 30, 2003, in North America on August 27, 2003 and in Europe on May 28, 2004. The game earned a score of 85.73% on Gamerankings and is hailed as one of the best tactical RPGs for the Playstation 2 by numerous gaming outlets. The game's original sound track has some great music, so don't miss out on it!
