Final Fantasy 9 Original Soundtrack OST
Platforms: Playstation (PSX)
Final Fantasy IX, called Fainaru Fantaji Nain in Japan, is a console RPG developed and published by Square for the Playstation. The game is set in the fictional fantasy world of Gaia and its plot centers on a war between several nations sparked by an ambitious queen named Brahne. The game's protagonist is a young thief named Zidane Tribal, who joins up with friends to defeat the queen. As the game's plot evolves, the primary antagonist becomes an arms dealer named Kuja. The game was developed around the same time as Final Fantasy VIII, but is noticeably different, as its much more cartoony and has deeper roots in the traditional 'fantasy' setting. Like other Final Fantasy games, the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, who regards this particular soundtrack as his personal favorite. Final Fantasy IX was released in Japan on July 7, 2000, in North America on November 14, 2000 and in Europe on February 16, 2001. The game was enormously successful, as it sold well over 5 million copies worldwide and earned an impressive score of 92% on Gamerankings.
