Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, called Fainaru Fantaji Takutikusu Eitsu Fuketsu No Gurimoa in Japan, is a tactical RPG developed and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS. The game is a direct sequel to the incredibly popular Final Fantasy Tactics advance game for the Game Boy Advance. Like its predecessor, Grimoire of the Rift uses an isometric turned based battle system, but with a few innovations. Square Enix increased the number of character jobs available in the game along with allowing some monsters to take up multiple squares on the grid. The game is set in the fantasy world of Ivalice. The game's soundtrack was composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto. Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Gimoire of the Rift was released in Japan on October 25, 2007, in North America on June 24th, 2008 and in Europe on June 27th, 2008. The game was well received, as it earned an 81% on Gamerankings.
