Suikoden V is a Japanese role-playing game (JRPG) developed by Konami & Hudson Soft and published by Konami for Sony's PlayStation 2 console. Originally released in 2006, Suikoden 5 has sold around 200,000 copies wordwide as of 2009.

Based on a classic Chinese novel, Suikoden V centers around the political strife of the Queendom of Falena. The story takes place six years prior to the events of the first Suikoden game (making it a prequel of sorts.) Players control the Prince of Falena and travel the world acquiring allies and solving the problems of the nation. Like previous Suikoden games, there are 108 total characters that can join the party. Over sixty characters are usable in combat and the rest serve as support characters for the player's party.
