Castlevania Original Soundtrack OST
Platforms: Game Boy Advance, Microsoft Windows , NES
Castlevania is the first game in the popular Castlevania series. In the game, players take control of Simon Belmont and his quest to kill Dracula. The game is a typical side-scrolling platformer of the 8-bit console era. It consists of six levels, each filled with a horde of Dracula's undead minions. Throughout the game, the players pick up upgrades that increase the strength and length of Simon's whip, and various sub-weapons that have special affects.
The story is simple, but straight to the point. Simon Belmont's ancestor had defeated Dracula years earlier, leading to a time of peace in Transylvannia. Now, Dracula has ressurected and it is Simon's goal to destroy the vampire lord and bring back the peace. While traveling through Dracula's castle, Simon ends up facing various horror mainstays such as mummies, vampire bats, gorgons, and Frankenstein's Monster, finally defeating Dracula on the final floor of the castle.
The game has been released on multiple consoles, and re-released many times. The original release dates for the NES are as follows: May 1987 in the United States, December 19th, 1988 in Europe, and February 5th, 1993 in Japan. The game recieved a 71.00% rating on Gamerankings.com.
