Shining Force 2: The Ancient Seal is a tactics RPG released in 1994. It is a much longer game than the original Shining Force and allows for more free-roaming. Players control Bowie, the Shining force leader, and an assortment of allies picked up as the story progresses. The plot starts with the unwitting opening of the seal that was binding Zeon the Devil King. Shining Force 2 is not directly connected with the original, but a future game bridges their plots. Shining Force 2 offers more character customization options than the original, and remains a popular game. It is the sixth game in the Shining series and is considered one of the best games of the era.
