Wild Arms is a Western steampunk console role-playing game published by Sony and developed by Media Vision for the Sony Playstation 1 in 1996. It was released in Japan on December 20th, 1996, North America on April 30th 1997 and In Europe on October 6 1998. Wild Arms was actually one of the first Role Playing Games on the Playstation and was is still one of the few RPGs to feature a Western American setting and motif. The game is largely 2D while exploring and moving around while battles are rendered in 3D. The game takes place on the fantasy desrt like planet of Filgaia, with the main characters being a band of miscreants who call themselves 'Dream Chasers' as they search the world for excitement and fortune. Wild Arms was such a success that it led to the development of over 5 Wild Arms games and many additional spin offs.
