Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is set in a high-tech world that is connected to a low-tech, high-magic world. Players learn through the game that it is possible to travel between the two worlds, but only if someone is gifted with special abilities known as 'shifting'. The player characters are all shifters, and they move through a splendidly created world that takes nods from Mediterranean and Islamic art to build a surreal-feeling city. This, accompanied with the musical score for the game, makes it a worthwhile play. The game was released rather late for the X-Box, and did poorly on the console. However, it did rather well on the PC and got scores of between 75-80% on game ranking websites.
