Odin Sphere is a unique 2D Action RPG set in a fantasy world for the Playstation 2. The game was published by Atlus, the company best known for the Shin Megami Tensei series RPGs. Odin Sphere tells the story of five different protagonists whose stories are interlocked. Like the Valkyrie Profile games, Odin Sphere is loosely based on Norse Mythology. Each of the game's five main characters are connected to the royal family of each of the game's five warring nations. Gameplay in Odin Sphere is remarkably different than other traditional RPGs, as combat is in real time and fast paced. The game was well received as it earned a score of 82% from GameRankings. Odin Sphere was released in Japan on May 17th, 2007, in North America on May 22, 2007 and in Europe on March 14, 2008.
