Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse is second game in the epic sci-fi themed Xenosaga trilogy. Jenseits von Gut und Böse literally translates into 'Beyond Good and Evil' and it is from one of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophical works. Xenosaga Episode II is a direct sequel to Xenosaga Episode I and continues the same story. Players assume the role of Gaignum Kukai, Jr. and Shion Uzuki. Episode II answers some of the questions raised in Episode 1 but most of the mysteries were addressed in Episode III. One of the biggest changes in Xenosaga Episode II is that the game's character models became more westernized and the game's battle system was drastically altered.  Xenosaga Episode II was released on June 24, 2004 in Japan, February 15 ,2005 in North America and lastly October 28, 2005 in Europe.
