Platforms: Game Cube
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, called Zeruda No Densetsu Kaze no Takuto (Baton of Wind) in Japan, is the tenth game in the critically acclaimed 'The Legend of Zelda' series. The Wind Waker was the first Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Game Cube and was considered incredibly unique at the time for its use of cartoony graphics. The game's setting was also different from that of any previous Zelda title, as insteasd of traversing on land for much of the game, The Wind Waker is set in a world covered mostly by ocean where Link's main form of transporation is his trusty sailboat, as the game is set on a group of islands in a vast sea. Like other main stream Zelda Titles, the player assumes control of a young boy named Link and must defeat the evil Ganondorf. The game places an emphasis on controlling the power of wind by using a baton called the Wind Waker, which allows Link to change the direction of wind or float in the air. The Wind Waker was largely well received as the game earned an impressive score of 95% from Game Rankings and is considered one of the best Zelda game's of all time. The game was released in Japan on December 13th, 2002, in North America on March 24th, 2003 and in Europe on May 3rd, 2003.
