Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance is very much like the first few Castlevania games. The player takes control of Juste Belmont, the grandson of Simon Belmont. He has taken up his family's heirloom whip, the Vampire Killer, to save his kidnapped childhood friend from Dracula. The gameplay is much like the older Castlevania games, with action-adventure platforming.

The game takes place in two castles: One present in the physical world, and one present in the spirit world. The spirit world castle is more difficult than the physical world castle, and holds more power enemies and traps. Throughout the game, Juste can collect special sub-weapons, magical spellbooks, and relics that allow him to use powerful special abilities, such as a super jump, or a shockwave attack.

The game was released on June 6th, 2002 in Japan, September 16th, 2002 in the United States, and October 11th, 2002 in Europe. It recieved a rating of 84.26% on Gamerankings.com.
