Legend of Mana, called Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana in Japan, is the fourth game in the 'Mana' series. The game developed and published by Squaresoft, the company behind the Final Fantasy games. Unlike traditional RPGs, Legend of Mana, along with the rest of the Mana Series, is an action RPG with an interesting real time combat system. The game is set in the fantasy world of Fa'Diel where the Mana Tree burned down centuries before the events of the game. The role of the game's protagonist, named by the player, is responsible for restoring the world and its mana. Legend of Mana's soundtrack was composed by Yoko Shimomura, who was responsible for music in several other square games. The game itself was fairly received, as it earned a 73% on GameRankings. Legend of Mana was released in Japan on July 15, 1999 and in North America on June 7, 2000.
