Platforms: Super Nintendo (SNES), Game Boy Advance
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past also known as Zeruda no Densetsu Kamigami no ToraifÅsu in Japan, is the third installment to the critically acclaimed 'The Legend of Zelda' Series. The game was released in Japan on November 21, 1991, in North America on April 13, 1992 and in Europe on September 24, 1992. Like the other 'Legend of Zelda' games, the plot of A Link to the Past centers on Link as he travels on a journey to save Hyrule from the evil Ganon while rescuing the seven descendants of the Sages. Like the original 'The Legend of Zelda', A Link to the Past utilizes the top-down camera perspective. The game was originally released for the Super Nintendo, but was later re-released on the Game Boy Advance nearly 10 years later. A Link to the Past was generally well received as it sold well over 4.5 million units worldwide and was ranked as one of IGN's 'top 100 games' of all time in 2005. The title also pulled in an impressive 93.50% on Gamerankings, which aggregates reviews from many different sources.
