Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is the second game in the Valkyrie Profile series. It was developed by Tri-Ace (The company behind the Star Ocean Series) and published by Square Enix. The game has two main characters, Silmeria and Alicia who both exist in the same body. Silmeria is a valkyrie who has been given the task of collecting the souls of brave warriors and delivering them to Valhalla, but she lost her rank after disobeying Odin and was forced to live with the humans as Alicia, the princess of Dipan. The game offers an interesting twist to the over used generic fantasy themes of most RPGs and thus is well worth checking out. The game also has some incredible tunes.  One change in Valkyrie Profile 2 is that hthe game automatically increases the difficulty for each additional playthrough, which allows fans to replay the game with some additional challenges. Another noteable change in the series is that this installment has no time constraints. Silmeria was released in Japan on June 22, 2006, in North America on September 26, 2006 and in Europe on September 07, 2007. The game was ultimately well received and sold well over 500,000 units worldwide.
